We support learning by giving tamariki the time and space to explore, experiment, imitate, ask questions — and be questioned — to develop their thinking and problem-solving skills. We encourage them to think for themselves, make decisions, express ideas and feelings, and work toward their own solutions.
As kaiako, we walk alongside tamariki as co-learners, supporting, resourcing, and exploring possibilities together.
We are deeply committed to sowing the seeds of sustainability — nurturing care for the natural world and helping tamariki grow an awareness of the systems that sustain life. We encourage connections with our local environment and the worlds of Papatūānuku and Ranginui.
We recognise that whānau are the most important influence in a child’s life. We value strong, active partnerships between tamariki, whānau, our kindergarten, and the wider community. Open communication is key, and we use a variety of ways to stay connected and engaged.
Ongoing internal evaluation is part of how we grow and improve. By reflecting on our teaching practice and how it supports tamariki learning, we can celebrate what’s working well and make meaningful changes where needed — always with tamariki at the heart of everything we do.
