We welcome listings from venues operating in the Nelson Tasman region that meet one or more of the following criteria:

Provide a free or subsidised service to the community
Are a registered charity, a not for profit group or a social enterprise
Are staffed by volunteers (or a combination of staff and volunteers) such as community, environmental, recreational or spiritual groups
Are a health/wellbeing or social service provider

The owners of Found reserve the right to remove venue listings they feel fall outside the scope of the directory

Description *

The Trafalgar Centre is Nelson Tasman’s largest multi-purpose spectator sports and events arena.  Built in the early 1970s, the Centre has a history of hosting major cultural and entertainment events and exhibitions.

The Trafalgar Centre sits on the west bank of the Maitai River, opposite Nelson’s Trafalgar Park and is just a 10 minute stroll to Nelson’s vibrant city centre and a 15 minute ocean-side drive from the airport.

Recently upgraded and earthquake strengthened, the Centre was named the 2019 EVANZ Medium Venue of the Year.

It contains two key spaces, the Main Arena and the new Northern Extension.

The Main Arena is ideal for sports events, trade shows, concerts, and conference and awards dinners.  Book alone or in addition to the elegant new northern extension.    The Northern Extension is a new, light-filled venue, opening onto surrounding gardens and waterways.  Ideal for mid-scale events, private, corporate and community gatherings.  Book with the main hall to create a ticketing, pre-function, break-out or exhibition space.
