Description *
SVS – Living Safe is now RISE: Respect, Inspire, Support, Empower.
For over 35 years, SVS – Living Safe has helped men, women, youth, and children in the Top of the South Island live free from violence. As leaders in the field of family violence, we are uniquely able to guide those who commit violence toward achieving lifelong change. Throughout our history, many versions of the organisation existed and succeeded. Today, holding our whakapapa close, we are walking into a new day, ready to rise and thrive. Within RISE there is meaning. Respectful family relationships don’t include violence and so we help others understand what respect is, how to be respectful, and how to honour someone else with their respect. We aim to inspire people, especially perpetrators, to understand that lifelong change does happen. Through support and empowerment – listening, treating people as worthy of hope, change, and love – we can break the cycle of family violence for the whānau in our community.
RISE offers a variety of services including training, education, counselling, family whanau, group or individual support to anyone who has been impacted by violence or abuse in all its forms. All services can be accessed as a self-referral, or through third party referrals including but not limited to health services, court services, child services, schools, government departments, self and parents. Mandated clients are fully funded and there is partial funding available for other clients. RISE relies on fundraising to provide these services. Where possible a small koha is requested but will not be a barrier to accessing any support. RISE delivers services into Nelson, Motueka, Golden Bay, Marlborough, Kaikoura and the West Coast.
Tab Images Images A Picture Speaks 1000 Words You may include your Organisation’s Logo or an alternative image in the online FOUND Directory.
