Victory is a thriving and caring community of health, hope and possibility.
Victory Community Centre (VCC) is a Community Centre located in Nelson’s multi – cultural Victory Village
- A range of health services
- A large programme of activities and events
- Advocacy and support for community members
- A place to gather and meet other people.
Our vision is that Victory is a thriving and caring community of health, hope and possibility.
Victory Community Centre manages a gymnasium style hall and a meeting room with a kitchen and breakout spaces, all of which are available for hire.
We host a number of external services including midwives, Plunket nurse, and sexual health services. Our in-house services include addiction support (including drug and other alcohol), navigation services for migrants and former refugees, a community nurse, and counselling services.
We facilitate community celebrations (eg. Matariki, Lark in the Park), oversee the community gardens, provide social opportunities and the Victory on the Move programme.
Victory Community Kai Shed
Monday to Friday the Victory Community Centre receives donations from the Kai Rescue, as well as community donations. We have a Kai shed set up for your convenience with easy access to bread, fruit and vegetables. The shed is generally stocked up at 9am and again at 2pm daily. Kai parcels are available for families who need a little extra help. These are done daily Monday to Friday before 11am. Pop in a talk to one of the team here at VCC.
Located within the Victory Community carpark we host the Nelson Koha Shed. The Koha shed purpose is to help alleviate the negative effects of poverty in our community. They help provide furnishings, clothing, linen, kitchenware, toys anything a family in need requires. For emergency requirements or to drop goods off, please check and call (021) 152 2779
