Shaping the game of cricket in our community

Nelson has a rich cricket history.  Cricket was first reported as being played in Nelson in the Nelson Examiner in March 1844, in a match between the Surveyors of the Land Company and Nelson.

Nelson Cricket would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers we have in our cricket community from coaches, managers, scorers, umpires, administrators, and that thoughtful person that always makes sure there is plenty of water and sunscreen for our players.

Without volunteers, our sport wouldn’t happen. They are at the heart of our sport and contribute their time, skills, and experience, for no payment, to benefit our cricket community. These amazing people are vital to helping our game thrive.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you can contact your local club or if you have skills that you think may benefit the whole cricket community you can contact Nelson Cricket to discuss further.
