Nelson Summer Kite Festival is an annual event held in January at Neale Park, Nelson.

Come and enjoy the best provincial New Zealand kite festival on one of the best urban kite fields in the world!

Situated at Neale Park in front of Nelson city, down at the edge of the water.  When that summer northerly sea breeze kicks in, enjoy very smooth flying conditions!

This is a 3 day festival for the visiting kitefliers.  Set up on Friday, public display both Saturday and Sunday.

With food stalls, face painting, balloon twisting, kite buggy rides, kite stall.

Volunteers are welcome to help with set up, collect donations, take down the set up, help fly some big kites and be part of the action.

This event is self funded and relies on public donations to keep going.

Organized by the Nelson Kite Club (basically 4 people)
