The ‘home’ of a range of services, set up to support parents & families in the Motueka & wider community.

Family/Whanau Support – A free social work service for whanau with a child aged 0-18, it is supportive, non-judgemental, goal focussed and builds on the strengths of your whanau.

A support worker will assist your whanau in areas such as:  problem solving, parenting issues, step parenting, coping with difficult situations, improving communication, accessing government agencies, financial difficulties and support to access other services or other issues that affect your family.

Family Support may vary from one-off enquiries to weekly home-based support, depending on your needs.

Budget Mentor – A free service for everyone.  Available to help with budgeting needs, including negotiation with creditors where necessary, Fifeshire applications and on-going support whilst debts are repaid.

Family Planning & Healthy Lifestyles Nurse – Our nurse provides confidential one on one advice, education and support. Clinic services include:

• Pregnancy testing
• Contraceptive advice & alternatives
• Cervical Smears
• Information on sexually transmitted infections & safer sex
• Support to visit your GP or health provider
• Information on breast self-examination, menopause & menstruation
• Planning Pregnancy/Fertility problems
• Group education on all of the above topics and healthy lifestyles

Akonga Whanau – There’s a range of free parenting education programmes on offer here at the Motueka Family Service Centre:

• Incredible Years – Basic IYP Basic is a 15 session programme for parents of children aged 3–8, who want to develop a more positive relationship with their children.
• Incredible Years – Autism IYA is a 14 session programme for parents of children aged 2-5. To promote children’s emotional regulation, positive social interactions and language development.
• Tools for Parents Tools for Parents is a 6 Session programme for parents of children aged 1-8. Full of tips & tricks to add to your parenting kete.
