Kopuawai Te Kohanga Reo o Whakatu is a Māori immersion early childhood education centre catering to pre-school children aged 0-6 years. It provides education entirely in the Māori language and is open to all children.

The centre is licensed for 35 children, with a maximum of 18 children under two years old and accepts enrolments at any time.
