We are a small team of midwives committed to delivering comprehensive and safe care to expectant and new mothers in Golden Bay. Our shared philosophy focuses on providing evidence-based information to women and whanau, supporting an autonomous and confi dent transformation from pregnancy through to new motherhood and parenting.

We are employed as Lead Maternity Care Midwives, working on a roster to distribute our on-call hours. This arrangement allows us to maintain a healthy work-life balance, so we stay refreshed and passionate about supporting women throughout pregnancy and birth.

During your pregnancy, you will either select or be assigned a lead midwife who will meet with you regularly and collaboratively manage the clinical aspects of your care. You will also have the chance to meet the other midwives throughout your pregnancy, ensuring that if urgent care is required or when it comes time for your labor, you will be familiar with the entire team.

If any obstetric input is recommended during your pregnancy, we liaise with specialists in Nelson Hospital to make a plan for your ongoing care, all the while prioritizing your fully informed involvement in creating a care plan that you feel comfortable with.
