Nestled in the heart of Wakefield’s Faulkner Bush Reserve, our kindergarten offers tamariki a unique opportunity to learn and grow in nature. Surrounded by native bush, birdsong, and open skies, children connect deeply with the whenua (land), developing a sense of kaitiakitanga—guardianship of the natural world.
Guided by the whakataukī Ko ahau te taiao, ko te taiao ko ahau (I am the environment and the environment is me), we nurture respectful relationships with self, others, and the environment. Our days are filled with unhurried moments that invite curiosity, creativity, and joyful discovery through play.
We believe in positive risk-taking, meaningful learning, and the power of connection. As kaiako (teachers), we walk alongside children as co-learners, supporting their growth in safe, inspiring spaces.
Together with whānau and our community, we grow compassionate, confident learners—ready to care for themselves, each other, and the world around them.
