We are a community theatre group that has been running in Wakefield for over 60 years.  Check out our rich history and photographic memories.

Country Players began as a theatre group in 1955.  Our first show was as “As long as they’re happy”.  We have strong links with our community and are always welcoming new members, be it from primary school age to adult; you don’t have to live in Wakefield to be part of the team!  It is Country Player’s aim to produce two or three theatrical shows each year.  Our performances go from dramatic to comical to tragic and back again.

We always welcome newcomers whether they be actors, costumiers, prop makers, set builders, makeup artists or backstage crew.  We would love to hear from you.  If you want to join the committee, come along.
