ABOUT OUR PHOTOGRAPHIC ARCHIVES – New Zealand (especially Nelson) information held on historical Photographic & Cinematographic topics in hard copy form of personal papers, manuscripts/paper records, maps/plans, photographs, newspaper clippings, advertising and personal documentation on mostly Nelson professional Photographers, photographic retailers, some amateur photographers, camera clubs, camera equipment, films & Maori photography augmented with other historical documentation of other New Zealand Photographers.
We also hold an “In house” Directory on most early NZ photographers and photographic retailers indexed by region.
Inclusive dates – 1840 to 1961 with some limited information past those dates.
Some limited worldwide photographic information is also available. Enquiries welcome.
Note… We are now taking commissions to research and produce hard copy albums with heritage photos and documents combined for organisations wishing to document their history.
ABOUT OUR BOOK – “BELATED ACCOLADES” is a slice of history from our Photographic Archives that covers the period of 1843-2017 covering the UNESCO HERITAGE STATUS of a Photographic Collection plus the photographers who left their mark on Nelson’s Photographic History.
ABOUT OUR LAND INFORMATION SERVICE – Information held on the first 2,000 Crown Grants for the Nelson Land District (which also included Nelson Province, Marlborough, Hurunui and Kaikoura.)
Note….We can research the history of your land from your current title back to the original Crown Grant and can provide Land Titles, maps and other relevant details with written reports outlining the land’s history if required.
