Alzheimers Nelson Tasman’s purpose is making life better for all people affected by dementia. Kia piki te ora mo ngā tāngata mate pōrewarewa.

We have two Dementia Advisors providing support to all those living with dementia. One is full-time covering the region of Nelson, Stoke, Atawhai and the other part-time covering Tasman including Richmond, Wakefield, Motueka through to Golden Bay.  This person is also our Manager and Educator.

Alzheimers Nelson Tasman offers information, resources, support and education to people living with dementia and/or their primary care partner and extended family/whānau. We advise and support people over the phone and through home visits and group sessions. We also inform people of services they may be eligible for and help them access relevant support. We run a number of monthly carer support groups and social Cafes throughout the Nelson Bays region along with weekly social groups for people living with dementia.  Our Educator provides education to care facilities, gives talks to community groups and other interested parties.
