Description

Nelson Mediaeval is a living history group focussed on the middle ages. We get together to have fun and practice skills from the period with a wide range of activities depending on the interests of the group members. Currently we have people interested in sword fighting / western martial arts, archery, cooking and brewing, dancing, singing and music, camping, leatherwork, sewing and other crafts.
We have a number of activities running on a regular basis and we also get together for feasts, camps, pub nights and other occasions.
Current activities include:
Singing group - fortnightly on a Monday 7-9pm
Instrumental music group - ready to start up again once we have more musicians
Combat/sword sighting group - weekly on Sunday afternoons
Dancing - weekly on Tuesday evenings.
We also attend events in other parts of the country such as the Upper Hutt International Jousting Tournament or Canterbury Faire in Christchurch.
We always welcome new members and people keen to just check out what we do. Please email us, phone us, or visit our website to find out more.
