Nelson Women's Support is based at the Nelson Women's Centre. We are the social work arm of the Centre, serving women who are facing a wide range of life challenges, such as: relationship breakdowns, mental or physical health issues, budgeting or parenting concerns, family violence, need for emergency housing or rental accommodation, etc. Our two social workers assist women as needed in their relations with Work & Income, Child Youth & Family, Housing NZ, doctors, lawyers, the police, etc. We also provide a free counselling service for women (of up to 10 sessions), to help women address grief, stress, axiety, life changes, etc. We run an 8-week course for women called "Pathways to Power" which helps women to become more self-directed in all areas of life.
