Description

The Confidential Listening and Assistance Service has been set up by the Government to provide a forum for people who were residents of State care facilities and institutions prior to 1992 to share their concerns and experiences about the way they were treated.
Sate care includes child welfare, the special education sector, health camps and other residential health facilities.
A Panel established by the Government and Chaired by Judge Carolyn Henwood will be available to meet people. Panel Members on the Confidential Listening and Assistance Service’s panel have been chosen for their standing and respect in the community, plus their knowledge of State care in New Zealand.
Talking with the panel will provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on the past and look to the future with a focus on current needs. The Panel will not make findings will offer you an opportunity to talk in confidence about concerns and to look the the future with a focus on current needs.
