Description
Acoustic Routes Nelson has been running in Nelson for about 24 years.
It has always been about encouraging participation in acoustic and folk style music - both for performers and as audience.
WE run a concert night at Yaza Cafe on the second Sunday each month (7.30pm start). In recent years we have started to run a singing session on the last Sunday each month at the Prince Albert Hotel in Nile Street open to anyone who feels like having a bit of a group sing without performance pressure.This is a community singing session - not a choir!
Our latest addition is a monthly sing around session in which performers take turns presenting a song to the rest of the circle - a low key performance opportunity that is less scary than the more formal concert nights. We also afilliate ourselves with other Folk and Acoustic Music clubs around the country with various Folk Music Festivals - especially the Tui Farm Folk Festival held over New Year weekend.
