The Nelson Provincial Museum (founded 1841) is New Zealand's oldest museum.
The museum is located on the corner of Hardy and Trafalgar Streets Nelson on part of the old Town Acre 445 block.

Description

The Nelson Provincial Museum site on the Corner of Hardy and Trafalgar Street in Central Nelson tells the stories of the Nelson and Tasman region. The Museum is only closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Admission to the regional history exhibition downstairs is free for Nelson-Tasman ratepayers. Visitors pay $5 for adults and $3 for children with families at $12. Travelling exhibitions and special exhibitions are also held on site and may have an admission fee which is determined for each exhibition.

At the former museum building in Isel Park The Nelson Provincial Museum Isel Park Research Facility is open to the public between 12.30pm and 4.30pm Tuesday to Saturday inclusive.
